Day 2: Mom & Babies doing well

Here we find the babies relaxing after their first night in the world. All of the puppies are doing well, and crawling around to explore their new surroundings.

The puppies generally tend to stay near the kitchen (Mom) as they seem to have healthy appetites. Peanut is being a very good Mom and keeps a close watch over the kids.

Yarmulke moves to new home in Illinois.

OK, we finally decided which lovely puppy to let go of. It was a very hard choice, because both puppies were so wonderful. Karen went with her gut instincts and kept "Sparrow". Here is Cheryl "Pinkie" Jennings with her newest addition, "Yarmulke". Who knew it was spelled that way? It's clear to see from is photo, that both are happy with the outcome, as Cheryl is being slathered with wet puppy kisses! We know that Yarmulke, will have a great home and we will get to see her very often.

Cheryl actually named the puppy after seeing the very first "baby" pictures. Yammi, as we call her, was born with an almost perfect circle of color on the top of her head. Cheryl said, "It looks like she is wearing a Yarmulke!" The name stuck, and we've been calling her that ever since. Peanut has also been branded as "Yammi's Mommy" and "Yarmulke's Momica". Maybe we should just stick with "Peanut"

My only worry is how Cheryl will cope with Yammi's up at 6:00am schedule! Ha, Ha, Ha..... I think that Yammi will become a "Slug-a-bed" as my Grandfather called it. Someone who stays in bed past sunup! I've been trying to train our puppies to to let me sleep in, but haven't been too successful at that!

Yammi, we wish you fame and fortune in your new home. May your bowl be always full of fresh spring water, and your kibble covered in gravy! Lots of love and kisses from your birth family. Posted by Picasa

A new SuperHero is discovered! Meet "Super Dave"!

This unassuming little fellow is "Super Dave". I named him after "Super Dave Osborne". A relatively obscure comedian who was a somewhat unsuccessful daredevil. If you remember seeing him, you will remember that he was always putting himself in harms way, and when things when horribly wrong, he would always say "I'm OK, I'm not hurt"

This little puppy began his daredevil career by walking the "pig rail" in his whelping pen as soon as he could crawl. He would climb up, walk around to where the other puppies were laying and "dive" into the pile. As he rolled to his feet, he would look around, almost as to say, "I'm OK, I'm not hurt". He would then crawl right back up on the pig rail, walk around to the proper location and hurl himself back into the puppy pile. He was also the first puppy in the litter to walk on top of the 9" Pipe Tunnels in their outdoor playpen. The pipe has a tendency to roll back an forth, but he kept jumping up until he got the hang of balancing and walking the length of it.

Here SuperDave tests out his new "SuperSuit". We saw this at a dog shop in Carmel, CA and knew at once it was for SuperDave! We put it on him and it instantly transformed him to superhero! We have tried putting costumes on other dogs, and they sit there glumly, trying to figure out how to get out of it. Not SuperDave, he looked at his new suit and instantly was running around trying out his new super powers! He is so proud of himself!

Here SuperDave prepares for lift-off! Nothing as trivial as gravity is going to slow this puppy down! Posted by Picasa

Left Ear Left Eye gets new home, new name.

Layne and Karen shortly before departing with their newly named puppy, "Dicy". Layne and Karen are the proud parents of Ch. Dunnville Daydream Believer, a.k.a. "Clayton", from Peanut's first litter. They have given him a wonderful home, and now they are bringing home a new baby sister! Karen jumped right into the Sealy world about 2 years ago and has never looked back. Karen learned to hand strip a Sealy, a feat not many people want to tackle anymore. In addition, she has shown him herself in many shows. Layne and Karen have built a wonderful outdoor play yard to amuse and entertain the "kids". Clayton has learned many tricks to astound and amaze friends and family. I am sure that Dicy will love her new home and new family.
Megan and Karen jump into the picture to wish Layne, Karen, and Dicy a safe journey home. Although we are sad to see Dicy go, we know she is going to a wonderful home with great friends! Best of all, we know we will be getting lots of photo's and phone calls! Posted by Picasa
